As long time residents of
the New York/New Jersey area, we had always wished there was a good
Middle-Eastern restaurant with good food, good entertainment and a nice
family atmosphere where we can go, have a good time and feel safe and
comfortable. Our relatives and friends in Montreal, Canada enjoyed
a dozen of such restaurants and we had none.
Our goal from the outset
was to create a restaurant with a complete package of food,
entertainment, and atmosphere. Above all, it had to be geared for
families. We were tired of "hang-out" restaurants that attracted
the wrong crowds. It had to be a place where we would take our
family without being uncomfortable in the setting.
We tapped our resources in
Montreal to bring in the best chef available. He was quickly
followed by Tony Mercho who has become the most popular Arabic singer in
the U.S. And we went to work on our dream restaurant...
